Qualification Program
All doctoral candidates funded by or associated with the RTG 2978 can choose from customizable and flexible training offers and activities tailored to the doctoral research projects and their individual interests and needs.
The Educational Pillars of the RTG 2978 Curriculum provide Basic Expertise in GI cancer and Adaptation-to-Therapy Mechanisms, comprise facultative project-related training revolving around bench-to-bedside education in GI cancer and offer Transferable Skills courses supporting the graduation process and the preparation of the next career steps.
Credit points collected in the context of the RTG 2978 qualification program align with the requirements of the HBRS and GGNB graduate schools.
RTG 2978 Activities flanking the RTG 2978 curriculum:
Networking measures include e.g. lab visits, social activites, the RTG 2978 seminar series, off-site workshops and the RTG-spanning UAPP.
Measures to foster internationalization are central in our RTG 2978 and include International Retreats and voluntary International Lab Rotations.
Interdisciplinarity is fostered e.g. by side-by-side training and research of MD and PhD candidates, the composition of the RTG 2978 PI team with researchers of different educational background and complementary scientific, technological and clinical expertise.
Supervision & Mentoring represent cornerstones of a successful and guided training process. Our structured supervision concept builds on Thesis Advisory Committees and is complemented by a personal mentor-mentee concept for all doctoral candidates.
