How to become a member of the RTG 2978
The RTG 2978 seeks to qualify PhD & MD candidates funded by or associated with the consortium and also accepts B.Sc. and M.Sc students:
PhD candidates funded via the RTG 2978:
First cohort: 12 PhD-candidates: October 2025-September 2029
The applications will open in March 2025. Once the applications are open, you will find a link to the application portal here.
Second cohort: 12 PhD-candidates: October 2027-September 2031
MD candidates funded via the RTG 2978:
We will enrol motivated medical students enrolled at MHH and UMG who will be in their 5th/6th semester in October 2026. The graduation of MDs within the RTG 2978 envisions 1-2 leave semesters for the wet-lab part of the experimental thesis (start: WS27/28, financed by fellowships).
First cohort: 12 MD-candidates: October 2026-September 2029
Second cohort: 12 MD-candidates: October 2028-September 2031
Associated RTG members:
PhD- and MD candidates with topic-related RTG 2978-independent research projects can become associated RTG 2978 members with full access to the RTG 2978 qualification program, measures and activities. Associated PhD and MD candidates will be enrolled in parallel with the MD- and PhD candidates of both cohorts funded via the RTG.
