Prof. Dr. Argyris Papantonis

Argyris Papantonis is a Principal Investigator in SP2 and a member of the Curriculum Committee.

His research focuses on dissecting the structure-to-function relationship of the human genome at the molecular level.

Professor Papantonis is Speaker of the Priority Program 2202 (SPP2202) on ‘Spatial genome architecture in Development and Disease’, Co-speaker of the IMPRS Genome Science Graduate School, a member of the steering committee of the Clinical Research Unit “Deciphering Genome Dynamics for Subtype-specific Therapy in Pancreatic Cancer” (KFO 5002) and is the Speaker of the EKFS-funded Medical Scientist program ‘Genomic responses to disease plasticity’ at the UMG

In addition, he has organized several scientific and educational meetings, including the 2018 Eurolife Winter School “Spatial Genome Organization in Homeostasis and Disease”, the 2019 EMBO Workshop “The Genome in Three Dimensions” and the 2021 DATAETHICS Pilot & Summer/Winter Schools “The Ethics of AI in Biomedicine”.
