Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Hessmann

Elisabeth Hessmann is the spokesperson of the RTG 2978, and a Principal Investigator in SP1. In addition, Prof. Hessmann is a member of the Steering and Selection Committees.

Her research focus lies on the development and progression of pancreatic cancer.

She is a person of trust for students of Molecular Medicine at the UMG and a mentor in the Dorothea-Schlözer-Program for female Postdocs. In addition, she is a member of the selection committee for Molecular Medicine M.Sc. and foreign students and the designer and coordinator of lectures in the modules "Molecular Aspects of Internal Medicine" (B.Sc.) and "Modelling and Targeting Pancreatic Cancer Subtypes" (M.Sc.)

In 2024, Elisabeth Hessmann and Günter Schneider jointly organized the "Fourth German Pancreatic Cancer Research Meeting" in Göttingen. This meeting included the "Young Cancer Scientist Satellite Symposium", an event for and by early career cancer researchers.
