4th German Pancreatic Cancer Research Meeting - An Else Kröner Symposium by KFO5002 and CCC-N

June 17 - 19, 2024 | Göttingen

The 2024 German Pancreatic Cancer Research Meeting is the fourth annual conference of the German pancreatic cancer research consortia, inviting researchers from across the world and all career stages to come to Göttingen in June 2024 to exchange ideas, and research, and to build networks.

National and international speakers present their current research on pancreatic cancer

In total, 27 speakers from nine different countries will share their expertise and newest findings on their current research on pancreatic cancer. As key note speakers, we invited Grainne O´Kane (Trinity St James's Cancer Institute, Ireland) and Francisco X. Real (Spanish National Cancer Research Centre CNIO, Madrid, Spain). The conference takes place from June 17 to June 19, 2024 at the Paulinerkirche in Göttingen.

Topics included: Genome Dynamics in Pancreatic Cancer, Tumor Microenvironment and Immunosuppression, Microbiome and Metabolome, Translational Cancer Research, Clinical Research and Precision Oncology. Additionally, there will be a "out of the box" session to learn from other tumor entities and disciplines.

Organization: The research conference will take place at the Paulinerkirche in Göttingen and is organized as a joint event of the CRU5002 and the Comprehensive Cancer Center Lower Saxony (CCC-N) by Elisabeth Hessmann (CRU5002, UMG) and Günter Schneider (CCC-N, UMG), together with the German pancreatic reserach consortia CRU325 (Marburg), RTG2751 (Halle) and CRC1321 (Munich). The meeting is planned and organized balanced in gender and career stage.

Additional Highlights: Meet the Editor Session & Satellite Young Scientist Symposium

Meet the Editor Session

In a Meet the Editor Session, participants have the opportunity to discuss research with experienced editors of renowed journals. During the discussion round, first-hand information on best practices in the field of publishing of research are shared.

We are happy to welcome Lise Roth (EMBO Molecular Medicine), Ulrike Harjes (Nature Cancer), Filipe Almeida (Nature Biomedical Engineering) and Gabrielle Brewer (Nature Reviews Cancer).

Satellite Young Scientist Symposium

The Satellite Young Scientist Symposium is a networking platform for young scientists (Day 1, June 17, before the main conference) and organized by doctoral candidates and clinician scientists from participant locations.
The topic will be: Empowering Collaborative Interdisciplinary Networks: Advancing Pancreatic Cancer Research through the Synergy of Clinician Scientists and Basic Researchers. To take part in the Satellite Symposium, young scientists need to confirm their participation during the registration process.

Participation & Organization

Researchers, scientists and clinicians with a focus on translational pancreatic cancer research as well as colleagues and partners of the CCC-N network are invited to register for the event.
The event is supported by the Else-Kröner-Fresenius Foundation (EKFS), the German Cancer Aid (DKH) and the DFG and organized by the CRU5002 and the CCC-N translational research team.
The conference is certified by the ÄKN (Ärztekammer Niedersachsen).

Registration

A registration for the conference is required and open now. Please note that we are limited in capacity and that registration follows the principle "first come, first serve". Therefore, early registration is recommended.

Abstract Submission

All scientists are welcome to submit an abstract online via the conference website. Please note that only abstracts submitted via the website are accepted and that an abstract submission does not substitute a registration for the conference. A scientific committee will select abstracts for oral or poster presentations. Furthermore, everyone presenting a poster will also get the chance to pitch the poster in a speed talk (2 min). A poster prize sponsored by EMBO Molecular Medicine will be awarded at the end of the conference!

Abstract submission deadline is April 30, 2024! Late abstracts or abstract submission via email will not be considered.
